Signature Varietals
Discover wines created from the most iconic and unique varietals these New World wine regions are famous for.

The chair and our five speakers will demonstrate the signature varietals from Argentina, California, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa including Malbec, Zinfandel, Carmenere, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinotage.

Together with our panel, Christina will present food harmonies in the glass and on the platter for different types of Chardonnay originating from all five partner countries. Be prepared for surprises!

Our chair will look at the scientific approach of the Forschungs-anstalt Geisenheim and at their international work in progress. Speakers will report on their efforts and experiences in the vineyard and in the winery and share their views on future progress towards a fully sustainable wine industry.

Discover  terroir through a selection of single vineyard wines from Argentina, California, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa.

Sustainability
Argentina, California, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa are all focussing on sustainable wine growing programmes. The managers of the generic marketing bodies will share their progress, their codes and their visions for the future.              

Food & Wine Pairing
‘Did you know that food changes your experience of wine?’ asks  Christina Fischer, the leading sommelier and author of books on this topic in Germany.

Master Class Institute of Masters of
Hosted by Lynne Sheriff MW, Chairman of the Institute, this seminar will include an introduction of the Institute’s global education programme, a tutored tasting of wines, and the opportunity to discuss professional development. Potential MW students are recommended to attend to learn more about the MW programme.

In this seminar we look back, taste and appreciate the wines from our past.  Showcasing wines from 5 years and older asking the questions around  ageing potential, variation of wine styles and winemaking techniques.

Sustainability
Sustainability – from biodynamics to organics to ecology and corporate social responsibility– sets us apart from the traditional wine-producing regions. How do we approach the issues around sustainability and the constant growing pressure on our natural resources?  Speakers will report on their experiences in the winelands and share their views on future progress towards a fully sustainable wine industry.
